| Don Greer has
always been captivated by the beauty of both nature and
architecture that characterize his home state of Connecticut and
also Vermont, where he has enjoyed a second home for over twenty
years. Although he has traveled extensively, the main body of Don’s work reflects his passion for New England. Don began his art career in 1988, when he painted exquisite watercolors of many fine colonial homes, inns, and landmarks throughout Connecticut and Vermont. After several years, he gravitated to oil as his preferred medium. Don Greer’s work is set apart. Each painting attracts and engages the viewer to participate in a fleeting moment of light and season that define New England’s unique beauty. He has received numerous First Place awards and has exhibited widely over the past twenty years in many juried shows - to name a few: Waveny, New Canaan, CT., Greenfield Hill, Fairfield, CT., Pequot Library, Southport, CT., and the Connecticut Classic Artists annual exhibits, Trumbull and Milford, CT. Many of Don’s works have been selected to adorn homes, schools, and corporate offices from Maine to California. His paintings have also been instrumental in successful fundraising by selected charitable organizations. |
